Prize Competition  
 



The World Congress on "Quality in Medical Practice"
announces its prizes of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.


Medical or relevant professionals are invited to submit applications for the nomination of the above awards.
Unpublished studies or research papers published in the 2003 and 2004 years in an international professional journal may be submitted for the "Quality in Medical Practice" prize competition.

Research should be carried out in close cooperation with a department of medicine at a university or a clinical department of an institution or hospital.
As far as possible, the papers should provide information about recent advance in medical knowledge that should be helpful in promoting treatment strategies or might indicate new frontiers of scientific explorations.

The papers must be written in English, and should be submitted to the Chairman of Organizing Committee, Mr. A. A. Vidalis, Psychiatric Department, 49, Konstantinoupoleos Str, Thessaloniki, Ô.Ê. 546 42, Greece.

To help the Committees to reach to a decision, it is requested that a translated summary up 600 words in German, French or Spanish is recommended.

Deadline for submission to the Committees is 3 March 2004.
Decisions concerning the awardees will be made by 12 May 2004, from each Committees of Medical Sectors and nominated during the Open Ceremony of the Conference. Subject to the Committee's decision, the prize can be divided.
However, if, in the opinion of the relevant Committee, no research papers of sufficient merit are submitted, it reserves the right not to nominate awards.

CME & CE
Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Education (CE) credits will be provided (details will be determined in due course when the program is finalized)

INFORMATION FOR PRESENTERS
Oral - speakers should confirm upon submission of their abstract which audio visual equipment they will require for their presentation. For any request out of the ordinary, please contact the organizing Secretariat.

Posters - Instructions for preparation of posters will be sent together with the acceptance notification.

Audiovisual Equipment


• If using a PowerPoint presentation (or any other computer software), please note that you need to bring your own laptop computer especially if using a Macintosh laptop PC, otherwise you need to bring a floppy disk ( 3.5 "/1.44 MB ) or a CD ( no ZIP disk !! ) and load it on the congress PC in the same Hall as your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session (breaks time).
• Please can you confirm that it has a VGA socket for external signal and come to check it in the same hall as your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session (during breaks).
• If using video, please ensure that it is VHS multi-system format. Please check it in the same hall as your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session (breaks time).
• Slide projection (projection of 35mm slides). If using slides, you are requested to load them in a slides tray and check them in the Speakers Ready Room at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your session. Please remember to collect them immediately after the session.
• Overhead projection (projection of transparencies). If using transparencies, please inform the technician in the Speakers Ready Room at least 30 minutes before the start of your session.
• Double slide projection is available only upon request in advance from the organizing secretariat.
